Zumba!

I went to my first Zumba class tonight and it was a blast! One hour of dance-aerobics. We danced samba, rumba, hip-hop and danced to songs such as Love Shack and Thriller! It was pretty f-in funny actually! I wasn't sure if I could do a full hour of cardio, but I made it through! I drank two bottles of water throughout the hour. I also stretched for 20 minutes before the class. I need to stretch every day, no matter what I do. I am a lot more flexible now.

Losing it

This last week has been great! I had someone at work ask me if I've lost weight, as I hadn't seen her in about a month. Another friend told me to buy some new pants because the pants I was wearing are just too big!

Saturday, Al kicked my butt again! I love the exercise ball and the exercises he's showing me for that total body workout.

Today, I bought a new pair of pants... and yep, they're a smaller size! woot woot!

Still kickin' ass

Man-o-man have I been working my ass off, literally. Well, the biggest changes I see are my pants are looser and I'm starting to see the lean muscle building in my biceps, triceps, and I can feel my abs! Under the chub is a good foundation!

Al kicked my ass on Tuesday! It's great. He promised me I'd sweat, and I sure the hell did. He's really got me focused on my abs (after stretching) along with cardio. Round 4 is Saturday.

My last training with Al was last Thursday. We figured out the circuit machines and he wrote down the seat position and weight for me. I start with 10 minute cardio warm-up (after stretching), work the circuit, then finish with 10 minutes of cardio. We previously figured out two "routines" for the treadmill. After 3-5 minute warm-up, pick up the pace to optimal heart rate (level 3.0 on speed and incline) for 22 minutes, then cool down. I usually get in 30-35 minutes total.

I have also gone to a stretching class 2x. I'm going again on Saturday. I really enjoy it. Next week, I'm hoping to try the dance/fitness class. Last Wednesday, they were busting a move to Thriller and I was sorry I hadn't gone that night. LOL

Still going

Migraines still derail me... I fought a migraine off from last Thursday to Sunday night. But it came back full force on Tuesday.

Prior to that, Sunday and Monday I walked 2.25 miles both days and got in the gym.

I know I still have a lot to accomplish and my short term goals for the next 6 weeks means I need help. I "interviewed" LA Fitness and 24-hour Fitness because those are the 2 closest to me. I got a better vibe from 24-hour Fitness. I don't like being forced in to long-term commitments. 24 is $29.99/mo for 1 location and they have a special of 3 / 50-min sessions with a personal trainer for $129. Anything past that, I'll consider later. If I don't like it then I won't go back after our trip to London. But, I think I'm going to like it.
